i just feel like the world would be a safer and kinder place if people in general knew that you can think someone/something is weird or annoying without advocating for the eradication of them. you’re allowed to think smth is weird just don’t get so whipped up about it that you become a fascist damn

kudos to jorge for continually making the release of the ithaca saga an immersive experience by going to ithaca itself, missing the ferry, getting caught in a storm, and having the livestream delayed. can’t wait to see everyone in ten years for the final album!

death and i.

the night after i took my own life, i awoke at the sound of something crashing followed by the panicked shrieks of my mother. hearing this, i went upstairs only to find my mom kneeling, bathing in the blood of the girl who wore the same face as mine. her eyes were protruding from shock. sobbing, she held her pale-white body with caution, as though fearing she might break her. my dad who also heard the noise came rushing, screming and asking my mom what’s wrong but froze instantly as he saw his daughter’s body: motionless, gone, long dead. my mother screamed and wailed as tears flooded her rosy cheeks like a stream. dad’s body shook, he looked away. crying, he rummaged through his pockets to fish for his phone and called the hospital. it was the first time, in my whole life, that i ever saw my father cry.

the wailing of the ambulance awoke the whole neighborhood. curious people gathered outside the house exchanging shocked glances and muffled whispers. i sighed heading to the backyard. i sat on the rusting iron swing, the metal bars squeaked as i pushed my feet against the ground, swinging. i heard footsteps tapping against the brick pavement. i smile, he has arrived.

a cloaked man emerged from the darkness. he strode over the grassy lawn with a tight grip of the scythe he is holding in his hand. i greeted him with a hello as he stopped his tracks in front me. i immediately halted myself from swinging. he didn’t reply nor made any noise. he lifted his hood, revealing a handsome young man. his face was unreadable and he had piercing gray eyes that go along weirdly with his long nose and sharp jaw. he then extended his hand to me and as the daylight reflected on him, he shone. like the morning sun signaling the break of dawn. i’d never expect to meet Death this way.

when Brennan said "The first rule of existence is: as above, so below. People are fractal images of the universe. You are as we are. In the same way your heart feels and your mind thinks, you, mortal beings are the instrument by which the universe cares. If you choose to care, then the universe cares. If you don't, then it doesn't."

when Brennan said "It is a horrifying responsibility to think because things cannot remain the same, each and every one of us must shoulder some responsibility for how they will become different."

when Brennan said "Sometimes decisions are not difficult. Sometimes they are just hard."

when Brennan said "There is no moral. The Wolf eats you one day and until it does, the forest is beautiful."

when Brennan said "I always felt the fundamental substance of the universe is creation. None of this makes any sense, when you really break it down. It's like, none of this had to happen, but it's beautiful and art is the definition of 'this didn't have to happen, but it's beautiful.' [...] It resonates with the universe because the universe is consciousness playing with itself."
